Background & Experience

In May 2004 Pioneer Engineering hired Colorado State University graduate Chad Wilcox. Chad graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. This fall, while continuing to work for Pioneer, he will begin his studies toward a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at CSU.

While at CSU, Chad worked with the SAE clean snowmobile team in efforts to improve engine performance while reducing both emissions and noise levels. Chad used vibration signature analysis coupled with sound measurements to pinpoint the components that needed attention. His efforts resulted in a snowmobile well below the competition noise standard.

He also interned at Seagate during his college career, and quickly became proficient in applying Root Cause Failure Analysis techniques to computer hard drive failures.

Since he joined Pioneer Engineering, he has already been heavily involved with vibration condition monitoring and several modal analysis projects.

Chad loves both the hands-on applications and the theoretical aspects of the job. His willingness to jump right in to any situation, combined with a very pleasant demeanor, makes him a very valuable asset to our team. He has already completed training and certification testing on his way to the ISO Category II vibration analyst rating.

Chad is also managing a new service offering available this year, remote vibration condition monitoring. Please contact him at any time with questions on this or any other of our service offerings at (970) 266-9005.
